Neopentyl Glycol (NPG) is a white crystalline flake with mild sweetish odor similar to that of peppermint oil.

It has a flash point of 217.4°F and is not regulated as hazardous. NPG is considered an organic chemical.

Neopentyl Glycol is typically used in the production of polyesters, paints, lubricants, and plasticizers. When used with polyester, NPG can increase the overall quality of the material by increasing the stability towards heat, light, and water. Other applications include cosmetics such as fragrances, nail polish, and sunscreens.
