Huntsman Operational Issues Continue to Plague Port Neches Plant

In Blog, News by Author

In a letter published this morning, ongoing operational issues at Huntsman continue to plague the order fulfillment and confirmation process. On September 16, we were made aware that Huntsman was suspending and not accepting any new orders for Monoethanolamine, Diethanolamine, and Triethanolamine.

There’s no definitive timetable on a resolution for this problem. The estimated delay is a minimum of 3 weeks. However, more analysis on the issues are being conducted and a further assessment of these operational dilemmas will be released soon.

GreenChem will be monitoring this continuing predicament and will update you as more information is known. Please find the official Huntsman statement quoted below:

Huntsman Performance Products continues to experience utility related operational issues at our Port Neches, TX factility . . . We are suspending fulfillment of orders which have previously been confirmed until a more definitive timetable is available. At this time, we anticipate a minimum delay of three weeks.

We are currently not accepting new orders and will advise when we have a clear assessment of timing.

We are taking all reasonable measures to minimize any impact and regret any inconvenience this might cause.
