Dow Acrylates Under Order Control, Per Report

Dow Acrylates Under Order Control, Per Report

In a new note published today, Dow has announced a “100% order control” on their acrylate monomers. This new regulation is due to increased demand on several materials. This comes on the heels of Dow’s September 27th increase announcement, which raised the price for Dow acrylates by $0.06 per pound. And with Dow acrylates under order control, product volumes are expected to get even tighter.

The new order control will be effective immediately, with volumes determined on a customer-by-customer basis. The affected materials are as follows:

2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate (2-EHA)
Butyl Acrylate (BA)
Ethyl Acrylate (EA)
Glacial Acrylic Acid (GAA)
Methyl Acrylate (MA)
Methyl Methacrylate (MMA)
Glacial Methacrylic Acid (GMAA)
Butyl Methacrylate

For more information regarding this recent increase, please find an excerpt from the official Dow press release below, and read the original here.

Effective immediately, or as individual contract terms allow, The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) will continue order control on the products announced previously on September 27th, 2016, and will hereby implement 100% order control on additional Performance Monomer Acrylate Products until further notice.

Currently, Dow is experiencing increased demand . . . This has made it necessary for Dow to implement order control to continue to reliably serve its customers.
