Canadian Dry Cleaning Chemical
The Canadian dry cleaning chemical process is a very popular way to keep high end clothing in top shape. In recent years there has been some concern about the safety of the chemicals used, but this concern is mostly aimed at people who work in the industry. The chemicals used have been around for over 50 years and are naturally present in the air. One of the chemicals commonly used, PERC, can be toxic in concentrated doses. But let’s put the numbers in perspective. The health department estimates that approximately 35 people, out of 1 million, might be at risk. There are “green” dry cleaners around as well, who use less toxic chemicals. However similar to “organic” the consumer really has no way to know how “green” the dry cleaner is.
